This pre-solicitation synopsis is notice regarding the Repair/Repurpose of Building 138 on the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL. This requirement will be a 100% total small business set-aside. This is a notice that a solicitation is anticipated to be forthcoming and will have all the necessary documents, including a scope of work. Performance and Payment Bonds are required. This project consists of the preservation and reconstruction of Building 138, U.S. Army Garrison (USAG) - Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) for use as a parking garage for snow removal vehicles. The scope of the project includes the replacement of the existing 12,000 square foot (s.f.) concrete floor to allow for drainage of debris and moisture brought in by the vehicles. New man doors will be installed to provide egress as required by life safety building codes. A new coiling overhead door will replace the existing sliding wood door. Extensive exterior repairs will stabilize the masonry and provide a weather tight enclosure. The project also includes the installation of new mechanical ventilation equipment that will comply with current codes and electrical outlets to provide power as required for tenant use.
