The work required is the turn-key design and build of a standalone, open-ended tensile membrane canopy over the existing asphalt multi-sport courts at Dargaville High School. The Contract Works include: - Structural engineering, 3D modelling, and working and shop drawings - Building consent, including all documentation and producer statements (PS1, PS3 and PS4) needed for the Code Compliance Certificate - A NZ-fabricated, hot-dip galvanised steel frame with a minimum 50-year design life, compliant with the NZ Building Code, AS/NZS 5131 and AC1828 - A PVC tensile membrane (SKY W9400 or equivalent) with a maximum of 13% light transmission, low glare and a minimum 25-year pro rata warranty - Bored pier foundations, independent of existing buildings. The indicative concept uses about 14 piers, each 900mm in diameter and 3.0 to 3.5m deep - Concrete and asphalt cutting, spoil disposal, and reinstating the court surface around each post - Rainwater collection connected to the existing stormwater system - Any geotechnical investigation needed, and locating underground services - As-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and warranties at handover The works are on an operating school site. The two existing showers, which contain asbestos in their linings, will be removed, and these areas will be converted into additional WCs to accommodate Music and Drama students as the students currently use toilets that are shared with visitors. The Contract Works required are: Remediation of the stormwater and wastewater drainage networks at Dargaville High School, 57 Plunket Street, Dargaville, in line with the Remedial Schedules (SW and WW). The works cover 30 stormwater lines and 14 wastewater lines, ranging from 80mm to 450mm in diameter, in earthenware, PVC, concrete, asbestos cement and relined pipe. The works include: - removal of the illegal connection by redirecting the caretaker's shed toilet and basin (WWHOL14_JCT6) from the stormwater system to the closest wastewater asset via a pumped connection (design, supply, installation, power supply and commissioning) - full and part pipeline replacements - pipe relining and spot repairs - root cutting, heavy cleaning and debris removal - exposing and raising buried manholes, and repairing manhole channels and benching - replacing missing inspection caps - exposing JCT3, installing a new mini chamber and completing CCTV of the line downstream to WWMH8 - post-works CCTV of every line worked on - reinstating all disturbed surfaces (asphalt, concrete, paving, grass and gardens) to match existing - handing over final as-built drawings, drainlayer records of work, commissioning records and warranties The Contractor is responsible for the design of the pumped connection, the SWMH21_SWMH22 re-route and any works arising from the Provisional Sums. This includes obtaining any building consent, producer statements and Code Compliance Certificate needed. Provisional Sums cover pipelines without a full condition assessment and further works found by re-CCTV inspection. They are to be spent only on the Engineer's instruction. The works are on an occupied, operating school site and will be delivered as a single stage, with one handover at Practical Completion.

The project comprises the construction of a new permanent Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) at Thorndon School, with a suitably experienced main contractor sought to deliver the complete works in accordance with the architectural, structural and associated tender documentation. The works include the engineered timber structure, translucent roofing, associated rainwater goods and drainage connections, hard and soft landscaping, reinstatement and all ancillary works necessary to provide a complete solution. The preferred outcome is a durable, compliant and fit-for-purpose covered outdoor learning space that maximises the use of the school's constrained inner-city site and provides a safe, weather-protected area for teaching, gathering and general school use throughout the year. Contractors are expected to demonstrate a robust methodology, appropriate resourcing and a practical programme that manages cost, quality and programme risk while delivering the works in accordance with the architectural and engineered design. The structural design incorporates engineered glulam beams, columns and purlins together with specifically detailed connections. Given the scale of the works, the project is likely to extend into school term time, making programme management and health and safety crucial considerations. The contractor will need to maintain safe separation between construction activities and students, staff and visitors, while carefully managing access, deliveries, noise, dust and disruption to normal school operations. The preferred programme currently anticipates commencement in December 2026 and completion by April 2027, although alternative programmes may be considered. Subject to the level of tender responses received and available budget, the project may also be split into two phases, with staging and sequencing therefore forming an important part of the contractor's proposed approach.
