The Contract Works required are: The proposal is to undertake fencing and gate works as part of the Learning Support Modifications at Hunterville School. Works include removal and replacement of existing fencing with new 1.8m high powder-coated aluminium fencing and gates, along with new 1.8m high timber paling fencing and associated bank retaining timber. The project also includes extending the existing cycle track, vegetation and debris removal, site reinstatement, and temporary safety fencing to maintain student safety throughout the works. Description of the Contract Works: demolition and removal of non-compliant fencing and gate elements where required, and remediation and replacement works to achieve Ministry of Education 1.8m perimeter fencing requirements. Requirements for phasing and/or staged handover of the Project: works will be staged to maintain safe school operations and manage access/egress during construction, and some higher impact activities may need to occur outside teaching hours or during school holidays. iv. Description of the site including conditions and known constraints: the site includes multiple uncontrolled access points, boundaries adjacent to private properties, and interfaces with public areas and roads; the rear fire exit/wheelchair ramp route is a known escape pathway that must be managed by the works. v. Limitations/special requirements: removal or modification of climbable elements, including footholds and horizontal rails, and treatment of adjacent climb assists, including vegetation and structures, may be required to reduce climb ability and achieve a continuous compliant fence line. Car parking works are to maintain safe pedestrian circulation and gate operation. vi. All applicable project specific details: supply and installation of secure pedestrian and vehicle gates, including appropriate locking/latching hardware to restrict unauthorised egress. Car park works include new and revised line marking, three accessible parking spaces with associated wheel stops, localised asphalt works, fencing and sliding vehicle gate. Tenderers must demonstrate experience working on occupied school sites and the ability to safely stage and coordinate the works. Key trades include fencing and gate installers, asphalt/line-marking, concrete/foundations, and landscaping/vegetation works as required vii. The Ministry is seeking a suitably qualified Contractor to complete a re-roof project on Blocks E&I at Taupo-nui-a Tia College. Block E is a straightforward roof re-clad, removing the existing low-pitch membrane roofing and altering high-level louvres over the E1-E4 classrooms, Awhina room and staff resource area, then installing new Viking Enviroclad TPO membrane roofing on new plywood substrate and packer purlins, with ceiling patch/repair and repainting to follow. Block I is a more involved job around the canteen, involving demolition of the existing metal and membrane roofing and skylights, construction of new trusses at a revised pitch, installation of new Dimond Styleline Colorsteel Maxam roofing and TPO membrane roofing, along with a new two-way 60-minute fire-rated wall, relocation of the HVAC unit, and reinstated HardieGlaze ceiling linings. Both are compact, existing-building re-roof projects rather than new builds, with the timber and roofing trades doing the bulk of the work supported by minor mechanical, fire, and ceiling-lining work..

Several walkway canopy areas throughout the school site are in poor condition, with extensive corrosion and physical damage identified. Some guttering has had to be removed after sections became unsafe and came off due to severe rusting. Other canopy sections are within the reach of students and have sustained further damage, increasing the risk of injury and ongoing deterioration. There is also a corner of a of building that students are able to climb up the blocks to access the soffit – propose to install a custom flashing over the edge of the building Therefore, some spouting and downpipes need to be replaced and several canopies need to be removed and new ones designed and built to take their place.
