The gas-boiler (from circa 1990's) servicing the Rotorua Library Ground Floor (987m2) and Level-1 (712m2) with heating, requires replacement due to reaching its technical end-of-life. Rotorua Lakes Council has chosen to replace the gas-boiler with a HVAC unit. This contract is for the decommissioning of the existing Air Handling Unit (AHU)-gas boiler and the installation of a new HVAC unit along with various fabrication and construction, new pipework and electrical work within and on top of the Boiler Room. The proposed new AHU & Heat Pump Chiller installation is required to meet heat load requirements and maintain existing functionality of the ground floor and first floor public spaces of the Rotorua Library / Te Aka Mauri. Indicative Timeline: October to December 2026: Demolition of existing heating unit November to January 2027: "Roof Strengthening" of the Boiler Room, if required for your system.
