We are inviting suitably qualified providers and Hauora Māori partners to submit a proposal for an innovative, kaupapa Māori based Youth Crisis Respite and Day Programme Service in Te Tai Tokerau from August 2026 – July 2029. The aim of the service is to improve the mental health, wellbeing, and functional independence of rangatahi/young people experiencing mental distress, while preventing avoidable deterioration and the need for more intensive interventions. The intention of the service is to support rangatahi to stabilise during periods of mental health distress and reduce pressure on whānau supporting their rangatahi when they are experiencing mental stress. The intent is also to avoid rangatahi admissions to inpatient mental health services, including adult wards.
