Description of Function The machine provides temporary mechanical support to heart through a process called counterpulsation based on the precise timing of balloon inflation and deflation relative to the patient's heartbeat, improving blood flow and reduce the cardiac workload. 2 Operational Requirements System complete with all accessories as specified in the Technical Specifications below. 3.
