Background The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Dodoma Integrated and Sustainable Transport (DIST) Project. This multi-agency initiative involves four (4) key implementing entities: the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA), and the City Council of Dodoma (CCD). The Government intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to eligible payments under a contract for the Provision of Consultancy Services for an Urban Transport Planning Specialist. 2. Objective of the Assignment The objective of the consulting services (“the Services”) is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the City Council of Dodoma in urban transport planning and management, including parking policy development and implementation, and transport infrastructure planning and development. The assignment is expected to commence immediately after contract signing and will have a duration of twenty-four (24) months, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. 3.
