Who We Are The United Nations World Food Programme (hereinafter referred to as “WFP”), with its Headquarters located at Via C.G. Viola, 68/70, 00148 Rome, Italy, is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives. WFP delivers food assistance in emergencies and works with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. Each year, WFP assists nearly 100 million people in approximately 83 countries. WFP employs around 17,000 staff, most of whom work in challenging environments directly serving the world’s vulnerable populations. Since the onset of the Ukraine emergency response in March 2022, WFP has made significant efforts to support local markets and national food systems while addressing food insecurity. Our approach prioritizes local sourcing whenever feasible. In 2025, 99 percent of the food distributed by WFP in Ukraine was procured locally, contributing directly to the strengthening of the Ukrainian economy. The WFP Ukraine Country Office intends to expand its roster of qualified local suppliers for the following commodities: buckwheat, millet, yellow split peas, oat flakes, sugar. Eligible Ukrainian suppliers are invited to submit an expression of Interest and undergo the supplier qualification process.
