The International Organization for Migration (IOM) implements healthcare activities through a network of healthcare facilities located throughout Greece under the framework of the Hippokratis I – Phase 2 Project. The operation of these Facilities generates Hazardous Healthcare Waste (HCW), including: • Infectious Hazardous Healthcare Waste (EAAM), • Mixed Hazardous Waste (MEA), • Other Hazardous Waste (AEA), which require proper segregation, packaging, temporary storage, collection, transportation, treatment, traceability and final disposal in accordance with applicable national and European legislation. The management of healthcare waste constitutes a critical public health and environmental protection activity. Therefore, the Contractor shall ensure uninterrupted service provision, full legal compliance and complete traceability throughout the waste management chain. The objective of the Contract is the provision of comprehensive hazardous healthcare waste management services for all 31 Facilities participating in the Project.
