BACKGROUND The Ministry of Finance has received financing from the World Bank and a grant from the European Union toward the cost of the Construction of a New Runway and Other facilities for Plaine Corail Airport, Rodrigues and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards procurement of Consulting Services for Land Rehabilitation and Design and Supervision of Irrigation Schemes and Reservoirs 2. OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT The overall objective of this assignment is to support the Agriculture Commission in the design and implementation of sustainable land rehabilitation and water access infrastructure for irrigation in Rodrigues, with the aim of enhancing agricultural productivity, strengthening climate resilience, and promoting food security, in line with Component 3 of the Rodrigues Airport Project. 3. BRIEF SCOPE OF THE ASSIGNMENT The consulting services are expected to include, but not be limited to, the following activities: Conduct technical surveys, diagnostics, and feasibility analyses; Prepare preliminary and detailed engineering designs for irrigation schemes, reservoirs and related water management infrastructure; Prepare bidding documents and provide procurement support during the procurement process; Provide intermittent supervision of construction works to ensure quality, compliance with designs and specifications, functionality of the irrigation schemes, and adherence to good construction practices; Support sustainable land rehabilitation measures and promote g
