Support for Preparation of the Modernizing Ethiopia’s Statistical System Project

FEDERAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ETHIOPIA MODERNIZING ETHIOPIA’S STATISTICAL SYSTEM PROJECT Statistical Systems Modernization GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE Grant No. E697-ET Project ID No. P516394 Recipient Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Implementing Entity Ethiopian Statistical Service (ESS) The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received financing in an amount equivalent to SDR 1,200,000 from the International Development Association toward the cost of the Preparation Grant for the Modernizing Ethiopia’s Statistical System Project. It intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, non-consulting services, consulting services, Operating Costs, and Training to be procured under the preparation activities. The objective of the preparation activities is to facilitate the preparation of a proposed project designed to improve the availability, quality, timeliness, and use of official statistics for evidence-based policymaking in Ethiopia. The preparation activities and anticipated procurement include: Preparation of key project documents, including the Project Implementation Manual, procurement planning documents, stakeholder engagement documentation, and environmental and social instruments. Establishment and operationalization of the Project Implementation Unit, including recruitment of key specialists, office equipment, furniture, software licenses, and related operational support. Stakeholder workshops, consultations, communication, translation, interpretation, travel, and related non-consulting services. Consulting services for National Statistical System capacity and gap assessments and preparation of a new Ethiopian statistical development plan. Procurement of essential information technology equipment, including laptops, desktop computers, printers, projectors, smart screens, and scanners.
