Background The Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS), through the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI), is implementing the Regional Climate Resilience Program (RCRP) and preparing the National WASH Project (NWP) with financing from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank. The Projects aim to strengthen climate resilience, improve water resources management, and expand access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services. To support effective implementation of both Projects, the MWRI intends to engage qualified personnel within the Project Implementation Unit (PIU). The Ministry therefore invites qualified and eligible Individual Consultants to express their interest in providing consultancy services as Social Safeguards Officer. 2. Objective of the assignment The objective of this assignment is to ensure effective management of social risks and impacts during the preparation and implementation of the RCRP/NWP, consistent with the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF), national legislation, and approved safeguard instruments.
