The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program (SRWSSP, Phase II), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. 2. The consulting services (“the Services”) include preparing an Integrated Water Resources Management and Development (IWRMD) the Plan for Pangani Basin and provide technical support in reviewing and updating existing IWRMD Plans for six Basin Water Boards (Lake Rukwa Basin; Lake Nyasa Basin; Ruvuma and Southern Coast Basin; Lake Tanganyika Basin, Rufiji Basin and Internal Drainage Basin) and lay the foundation for preparation of National IWRMD Plan. The assignment aims to enhance the integration of groundwater management, climate resilience, water quality, ecosystem protection, stakeholder participation, and data-driven decision-making into the basin planning process, while also laying a strong technical groundwork for the future creation of the National Integrated Water Resources Management and Development (National IWRMD) Plan.
