NSDC-1466 The Provision of the Collection and Reprocessing of Glass Packaging for Newark & Sherwood District Council (Concession)

The Council wishes to invite tenders from suitably qualified operators under concessions contract for the supply of services in respect of kerbside glass recycling service that is collected by Newark and Sherwood District Council recycling teams and brought to a waste transfer station. The Council wish to appoint one Service Provider to manage the sale/disposal of the recycling products it collects. This will cover the sale of sorted recycling material into the reprocessing markets. A Service Provider is required to provide haulage of the glass from the transfer station to their reprocessing facility for recycling. The services are; the collection and recycling of mixed glass (EWC 20 01 02) from Newark and Sherwood District Council Lorry Park, Great North Road, Newark, Nottinghamshire (Waste Transfer Station EPR/LP3222SD). Through the purchase of the glass the Council wish to establish a mutually beneficial financial arrangement with a Service Provider that will maximise revenue (income) for the Council. The Council estimate an annual tonnage of approximately 2,200 tonnes of separately collected glass containers (kerbside collections, including commercial glass and bring bank collections). This figure is for guidance only and no minimum level of tonnage is guaranteed for this contract. However, the Council shall guarantee exclusivity to all kerbside and bring bank glass collected by the Council. The Service Provider must hold appropriate licences, be compliant with all current or amended legislation as is necessary to carry and handle the waste. It is a further requirement that the re-processor shall carry the necessary licenses and operate in accordance with current or amended legislation. It is anticipated the contract start date to be 3rd August 2026. The contract shall be for an initial period of 2 years, with an option to extend for a further 2 years, subject to satisfactory performance. More details can be found in the Specification document. The service will support our in house maintenance teams, which operate eight caged vehicles requiring regular disposal of void waste, green waste and fly tipping materials. The tender will result in a single contract with one service provider. The contract will run for an initial three year term, with the option to extend for up to two further periods of 12 months (maximum five year duration), subject to Halton Housing requirements and satisfactory performance.

SCDC is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide abandoned vehicle collection, storage and disposal services in South Cambridgeshire. This will involve SCDC in contacting the contractor to arrange collection (storage and ultimately disposal) of the vehicle. As part of these services SCDC will notify the contractor of the vehicle location, marks on the vehicle and registration. The contractor will need to visit the location of the abandoned vehicle and photograph it, before collecting and storing the vehicle. SCDC will notify the contractor of the requirement to dispose of a vehicle. Please note that the range and sizes of vehicles can vary and SCDC need a contractor who has the capacity and capability to collect a variety of vehicles.

As part of the LGA’s three graduate programmes, Impact: The Local Government Graduate Programme, Impact: Finance and Pathways to Planning, the LGA wishes to receive bids from individuals, organisations or sole traders to design, develop, pilot and refine Situational Judgement Test (SJT) content, for use at the initial sift stage of our graduate recruitment programmes. The successful supplier will develop a bank of SJT questions and responses aligned to each programme’s competency framework (see Appendix 11). The bank of questions must cover each programmes competencies equally, grounded in realistic role demands and use a format that minimises unnecessary ambiguity and cognitive load. This will include initial design, piloting with an appropriate sample group, analysis of outcomes and refinement of the SJT content as required, with the explicit aim of ensuring the assessment is robust, accessible and minimises adverse impact.

Royal Borough of Kingston are conducting this Procurement to select a Development Partner to develop a district heat network in the Kingston Potential Zone Area (the "Network") and, subject to receipt of the necessary approvals, to deliver the Network using the Development Partner's chosen corporate vehicle (the "Project Company"). This is a mixed procurement. The Network is intended to operate as part of Kingston's strategic and essential utility infrastructure, designed to supply affordable, low‑carbon heat to homes and public buildings. The Network is expected to achieve significant reductions in carbon emissions compared with conventional gas‑based heating, improved local air quality through reduced combustion, and increased use of locally sourced low‑carbon energy. By providing a centralised, efficient heat solution, the Network will support the Authority's ambition to achieve borough‑wide carbon neutrality by 2038 and net‑zero Authority operations. RBK has already carried out technical and commercial feasibility work that confirms the potential for the Reference Scheme to be a viable, scalable heat network. The Reference Scheme assumes the use of waste heat from the Thames Water Hogsmill Sewage Treatment Works and is planned to connect Cambridge Road Estate, Kingston Hospital, Kingston University's Penrhyn Road campus, and the new Kingston Leisure Centre, with the potential for future expansion into Kingston Town Centre and surrounding areas as Subsequent Phase(s).
