Совместный проект ВОЗ и ПРООН "Поддержка усиления национальных лабораторий и пунктов въезда для готовности к пандемии", инициированный в рамках гранта Пандемического Фонда "Укрепление национальных возможностей для подготовки к пандемиям и реагирования на вспышки инфекционных заболеваний в Казахстане", направлен на развитие возможностей Казахстана в обнаружении, реагировании на угрозы и управлении здоровьем населения. В рамках данного проекта предусмотрено реконструкция здания медицинской лаборатории с внутренней перепланировкой в г. Алматы. Это позволит обеспечить надлежащую поддержку в исследовательских, мониторинговых и ответных мерах, что является важным шагом к устойчивости системы здравоохранения страны перед лицом будущих вызовов.Улучшение инфраструктуры лабораторий и контроль за санитарными условиями являются критически важными для повышения исследовательских возможностей и укрепления мер по наблюдению и контролю за заболеваниями.
