The Suppy, Installation & Monitoring of Temporary Remote-Signalling Alarms for West Yorkshire Police

In its fight against crime West Yorkshire Police (WYP) have an ongoing operational requirement for the provision of fixed, temporary remote-signalling alarms as a short-term protection measure for high-risk victims of crime, witness protection and crime scene preservation to provide direct communications and initiate police response in the minimum time if activated. WYP are undertaking this tender with the intention of awarding a contract to one service provider who can supply, install, monitor, repair/maintain and remove 'Temporary Remote-Signalling Alarms' to our specified standards within the WYP Force area. The estimated number of alarm devices in circulation at any one time is a maximum of 150, although this number is subject to decrease and is not a guarantee of future business. The number of alarm installations over the last 2 years is approximately 390 per year; this number is subject to fluctuate and is not a guarantee of future business. Blackpool Council manage approximately 30 formal play areas across the town. These sites vary in size, age, condition, and functionality and are predominantly located in urban and coastal environments with exposure to high usage, anti-social behaviour, vandalism, wet weather, and salt-laden air. This framework will support the delivery of both small replacement works and large-scale playground refurbishments, ensuring consistency, quality, durability, and value for money as well as building close relationships with a smaller amount of suppliers who can meet our needs, over the contract term. St Stephen Parish Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor for the design, supply and installation of a cycle skills area within North Close Play Area, Greenwood Park, Chiswell Green, St Albans, AL2 3JX. The project aims to provide a durable, safe and engaging cycle skills facility for children and young people up to 14 years of age, supporting the development of cycling skills, balance, coordination and confidence through active outdoor recreation. The successful contractor will be responsible for the complete design, supply, construction and installation of the facility, including all associated site preparation, foundations, materials, equipment, safety measures, reinstatement works, waste removal, inspection and certification. The contractor will also be required to provide design drawings, visualisations and details of materials and construction methods. The cycle skills area will occupy an area of approximately 1,500 square metres and should comprise a range of separate and interconnected skills-development features. These may include balance beams, rollers, bridges, berms, ramps, narrow riding sections, slalom features, elevated elements, technical riding obstacles and similar features designed to improve cycle handling skills. The Council is seeking a collection of individual skills-development features and progression zones rather than a pump track, BMX track, mountain bike trail or continuous riding circuit. The completed facility must be suitable for unsupervised public use, constructed from durable materials, require minimal maintenance and have an anticipated service life of at least 15 years. Contractors should demonstrate how their proposals address accessibility and inclusive design principles. The South London Waste Partnership has been working together with the Authority to upgrade the existing, Authority owned site at Villers Road. In connection with this, a Stage 2 design has been carried out. The Stage 2 design, together with further surveys carried out since, are issued with these tender documents. The PCSA Services comprise the pre-construction services required to develop the project from the current Stage 2 design through the pre-construction phase, including design development, buildability and programme review, cost planning and market testing, risk management, supply chain engagement, and preparation of the Contractor's proposals for the Main Works. The Main Works comprise the design and refurbishment of the Waste Transfer Station, provision of new Household Reuse and Recycling Centre facilities, upgrading of site infrastructure, and relocation of welfare facilities. This Tender is for the Pre-Construction Services Agreement (PCSA) Fee associated with the PCSA Services, together with main works preliminaries, overheads and profit percentages for evaluation purposes. A cost plan will also be requested as part of the Tender to obtain an indicative budget for the Main Works. It is intended that the successful Bidder appointed under the PCSA will subsequently undertake the Main Works under a Design and Build Contract, subject to agreement of the final construction cost and the necessary approvals.

London’s Violence Reduction Unit Custody Based Youth Services to Provide Support to Young People The London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is undertaking a market engagement exercise on Monday 22nd June to inform the recommissioning of custody-based intervention services for 18-25s in London . The London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is committed to reducing violence by understanding how it affects young people and communities and by building strong partnerships across sectors, including youth work, local authorities, education, health, policing, and the voluntary and community sector. Through this work, the VRU champions prevention and early intervention, ensuring that the voices of young people are central to shaping services and driving system change. Custody-based interventions form a key part of this approach, providing support at critical ‘reachable and teachable’ moments. Background to Current Service Custody-based interventions (CBI) drive the importance of supporting young people during their critical point in their journey through the criminal justice system. Young people present in custody with complex needs and can face multiple barriers in accessing positive opportunities. Without meaningful intervention, they are at heightened risk of reoffending, social exclusion, and long-term negative outcomes. The current service provision is DIVERT, a custody-based intervention programme supporting young adults aged 18–25 at a crucial stage in the criminal justice system. The programme has been running for the past 10 years and has been funded through the London Violence Reduction Unit since 2021, reaching 9,417 young adults over the past five years. Delivered by Custody Intervention Coaches (CICs), the service operates across 12 custody suites in London and continues into the community, providing tailored, trauma-informed support.
