The Contract Works required are: The proposal involves a range of accessibility upgrade works to improve safe and compliant movement throughout the school site for students, staff and visitors with mobility requirements. The proposed works include the upgrade and modification of existing landings, steps, ramps and accessible pathways at various locations across the school to provide improved access between buildings and external areas. Works include adjustments to gradients and levels, installation of compliant handrails and edge protection, resurfacing of pathways, replacement of deteriorated surfaces, and improvements to transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. The project is intended to enhance overall site accessibility, support inclusive learning environments, and ensure compliance with current accessibility standards and Ministry of Education requirements. Suppliers are required to describe how their proposed approach will deliver economic benefits to New Zealand, including (but not limited to): Use of local labour for the delivery of the bathroom modification works. Engagement of New Zealand–based subcontractors and trades, including small and medium enterprises where appropriate. Supporting regional employment by sourcing workers from the local area where possible. Use of locally supplied materials where suitable and feasible. The Cambridge to Piarere project is a 16km long extension of the Waikato expressway from Cambridge southwards towards Piarere. Online section of C2P comprises construction of the 6.4km ‘online’ section from the southern end of the Cambridge Southern Interchange through to the proposed grade-separated Karāpiro Interchange. History: Inconsistent fencing heights below 1.8m, climb assists, unsecured and non-self-closing gates, and multiple uncontrolled access and egress points, creating a serious safety risk due to the site’s proximity to public areas and roads. iv. Overview of the programme of which this project is a part: This project forms part of Avalon Primary School’s LSM-funded safety improvement programme and focuses on perimeter fencing and gate upgrades to mitigate uncontrolled student egress and improve compliance and site security. v.
