The Low Emissions Heavy Vehicle Fund (LEHVF) is a government fund of $27.75 million to be administered by the Energy Efficient and Conservation Authority (EECA). The purpose of the Fund is to provide grants to assist customers to purchase EECA Whitelisted low emission heavy vehicles or approved conversions from LEHVF Programme Suppliers. This Invitation to Register (ITR) seeks applications from suitably qualified vehicle suppliers and converters to be a LEHVF Programme Supplier. Flexibility Enabled Heavy Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Demonstration

EECA seeks to support demonstration projects to test how heavy vehicle charging infrastructure can be provided reliably and be operated cost effectively through integrated demand flexibility. Activity will be focused through charge point operators and freight companies who will be co-funded by EECA to install heavy vehicle charging infrastructure which will include demand flexibility technologies. Applications can be made for on-road vehicle charging hubs at shared urban facilities, either in an urban transport hub or at a qualifying depot with a clear sharing plan, or for dedicated journey charging. They must incorporate technologies such as smart charging, battery energy storage, and demand flexibility to minimise grid impacts. Applicants can apply for up to $5 million of total EECA co-funding of up to 50% of eligible costs for a minimum 1 MW charging hub. The remainder of the total Project costs will be co-funded by the Project Owner. Co-funding is for on-road vehicle hubs. Service Provider List - energy-related services

The Service Provider List is for Practitioners capable of providing impartial energy related advice to clients. EECA is building a nationwide Service Provider List of experienced energy and carbon management professionals who can deliver specific energy-related services relevant to EECA information, advice, and resources. We are looking for: • New Zealand based and NZBN registered business. • Suitably qualified to deliver at least one of the EECA products included in the Service Provider List. • An ability and willingness to work collaboratively with EECA and other stakeholders. The List will act as a resource for any business wanting to connect with a service provider. The project is not limited to EECA funding or programmes. • Providers appointed to the List will be added to a list of approved suppliers which will be available on EECA’s website. • Businesses approved for EECA co-funding for relevant programmes will be able to choose their service provider from the List. EECA's Very High Temperature Heat Pump (VHTHP) Activator demonstration initiative focuses on HTHPs, which supply process heat very efficiently, with conversion efficiencies in the 300% to 500% range. EECA seeks proposals from Service Providers looking to work with Project Owners requiring heat above 85°C to deliver New Zealand-based VHTHP Projects. Supported VHTHP (including steam heat pump) projects must supply heat demands requiring a minimum of 85°C and are expected to deliver a minimum 150% increased energy efficiency (COP of 1.5). The value of developed projects will be at least $250,000. EECA has approved a budget of up to $10 million for co-investment through this RFP to support Service Providers contracted by 30 June 2026 to develop and build projects. The co-funding is to share the risk of new or underutilised technologies for industrial and commercial businesses and would contribute toward both the up-front Project development costs, and the implementation costs. AI Solutions to support demand side energy efficiency

In this RFI the term Solutions refers to products, services or tools to improve energy efficiency or energy productivity that are enhanced or made possible by utilising artificial intelligence techniques. The energy sector is rapidly transforming driven by technological advancements and deployment of renewable energy. Increasing use of AI is one factor helping to drive this change and EECA is seeking information from suppliers of solutions that incorporate artificial intelligence (Solutions) which may help New Zealand achieve its energy efficiency, energy affordability, energy resilience and distributed flexibility goals. EECA is specifically interested in how Solutions can optimise electricity demand and consumption by revolutionising consumer-side energy efficiency and demand management. EECA is seeking current information on Solutions that support commercial and industrial electricity consumers (including consumers that may have on-site electricity generation, such as solar PV, and, or, energy storage) to improve their energy efficiency and energy productivity. The information sought will help it assess the available Solutions that are relevant to energy efficiency and demand management, and to potentially accelerate the use of such innovative solutions by New Zealand businesses. We are interested in Solutions that are more advanced than older rules-based AI tools (i.e. symbolic or notional AI). Specifically, we are seeking information on Solutions which encompass advanced machine learning, deep learning or other advanced AI techniques. These could include utilising models for Predictive AI, Generative AI, Computer vision, physical or embodied AI or Agentic AI. Our focus is on learning about Solutions that can revolutionise efficiency and demand management to deliver increased energy productivity, increased energy affordability and enhance reliability of supply.
