Manufacture, supply and maintenance of ST CRIDs
Transport for London
There will be an ongoing requirement for STCRIDs, which will not diminish by the roll-out of the PCRID contract as anticipated. The STCRID was to be superseded by the PCRID but we are now aware that this is not the case. Therefore, a new strategy is required for the STCRID which needs time to formulate due to a number of key decisions (new design, existing design includes obsolence) and this SSR will permit the time. A new strategy has been determined as a means to achieve a permanent solution, however until such time as that strategy is enacted there is an ongoing need for ST-CRID repairs, renewals and recalibrations in order to keep the c.4,000 units in use across the network operational and safe. With an average periodic spend of c£25,000 the sum of £600,000 is sought via this SSR to fund outstanding, current and future costs (18 months). After discussion and review within Procurement & Commercial, a strategy has been formed: an SSR agreement is to be negotiated and agreed with Unip
