Procurement of Modular A-Frame - PMEN (UK2)

The Authority has a potential requirement for a minimum of one (1) Modular A-Frame, associated equipment and in-service support. The A-Frame will form part of a Launch and Recovery (L&R) System, and will support UK Royal Navy’s (RN) operations, training activities, and assessment of suitability for wider application across RN vessels. More requirement detail can be found in the Request for Information (RFI), attached within the Opportunity Listing linked below. The Authority is considering a procurement that may also include provision for the purchase of additional quantities of A-Frames, associated equipment, spares, training, maintenance and other related goods and services. Note that the Total Value stated below is indicative only, and has been estimated on the basis that potential additional requirements and Options may be included. The quantities, scope and duration of any such requirements remain under development and will be determined by the Authority in accordance with its future operational requirements, funding and procurement strategy. The Ministry of Defence (the Authority) is exploring the market for a deployable capability that would allow users to handle information securely while operating at sea for extended periods, and to share information securely between deployed and shore-based users. Existing arrangements provide limited capacity at sea. The Authority is interested in solutions that are readily deployable through standardised freight transport (air, land and sea) and can be procured with an ongoing maintenance, training and in-service support solution package. The Authority is also interested in suppliers who could provide all or part of such a solution and supports collaborative working with other suppliers to jointly develop a solution, together with appetite and capability for development. Areas of interest include secure marinised deployable or modular workspaces (e.g. containers), IT and communications integration, secure data transfer (including hardware and software), in-service support, and the design, demonstration and Secure by Design process for such a capability. This notice opens a staged engagement. Suppliers who register an interest and meet the access conditions below will receive a Request for Information marked OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE, followed by a clarification period and an industry day. Drawing upon reference architecture, technical standards and a test-bed for evaluating integration compatibility, the LTAC will provide independent support to the acceptance of digital products and provide assurance support that solutions meet the Defence Modelling and Simulation Coherence and Secure by Design principles. The LTAC will maintain the ACTS architecture baseline and act as the architecture custodian, ensuring coherence, traceability and alignment with approved Defence standards. The Authority currently intends to procure this requirement through a competition conducted under the Crown Commercial Service Technology Services 4 (TS4) Framework.

Defence Medical Services Research Steering Group

Defence Medical Services Research Steering Group (DMSRSG) is the primary mechanism through which the DMS endorses and funds research activity. The research project must be of military relevance, scientifically robust, and offer value for money. DMSRSG supports military-relevant medical research. Projects are not restricted to a particular methodological approach or technology readiness level (TRL). We will support foundational science through to applied research. Where foundational science / early TRL activity is proposed there must be a feasible pathway to impact on clinical delivery or operational capability. Research must be predominantly medical or healthcare focused and we welcome qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research. There is no limit on the amount of funding that can be requested per application. However, the overall commitment budget at any one DMSRSG meeting is approximately £500k and we support multiple proposals at each round. Funding requests should always be commensurate with the activity proposed and can be multi-year. Priority areas are outlined in the calling notice. This aligns with Commander Field Army direction to invest and train 240 sUAS System Commanders and 240 FPV Strike Commanders every year to grow sUAS capability across the force units rapidly.

UK3 - Programme Frontier

The Defence AI Centre (DAIC) is hosting an Industry Day on 17th July 2026 to share plans for Programme FRONTIER, a new programme to harness frontier AI for enduring warfighter advantage. FRONTIER is a multi-year commitment which will tackle a range of warfighter problems, starting with AI tools and capabilities that reduce MOD’s cyber risk. FAP aims to continually design, develop, and deliver Professional Defence & Security Education (PDSE) and training services, including the ability to award degrees up to RQF level 7 and potentially 8, recognising prior accredited learning. There are two primary delivery sites (Shrivenham and London) in addition to a virtual footprint on the Defence Learning Environment (DLE). There are aspirations to deliver courses to other locations which may include overseas.
