1. Project Description The U66 Trisonic Wind Tunnel project will deliver a new compressor facility and associated infrastructure, equipment relocation and repairs, connections and supporting work at the National Research Council Canada campus at 1950 Research Private, Ottawa. The work will be undertaken within an active federal research environment and will require careful planning, coordination, security compliance, field verification, quality control and closeout. 2. Anticipated Scope Structural steel framing for the new compressor facility, including columns, beams, bracing, joists, steel roof deck, connection steel and associated erection work. Miscellaneous metals including service platforms, stairs, ladders, guardrails, handrails, equipment supports, roof framing, lintels, embedded steel and other fabricated components shown in the Contract Documents. Field welding, cutting, fitting, reinforcement, modification and repair of existing structural steel, industrial equipment supports and other existing fabricated steel assemblies where required by the tender documents. Welding repairs and modifications associated with industrial equipment and facility elements, including work requiring controlled procedures, field fit-up and coordination with existing equipment and operating conditions. Delegated design, sealed shop and erection drawings, connection design, temporary bracing, field measurement, fabrication, erection, inspection and coordination with concrete, mechanical, electrical and building-envelope work. Crane operations, rigging, temporary supports, access planning, protection of existing facilities, coating and galvanizing repairs, and work in or adjacent to an operating federal research facility. The final scope, commercial requirements, schedule, bonding, insurance, security and contract terms will be established in the future tender documents.
