P58PI26175-ARC FLASH HAZARD, INCIDENT ENERGY ANALYSIS STUDY & REPORT — 5 SUBSTAT
Toronto Transit Commission - PCM Capital
An Arc Flash Hazard Analysis is a formal engineering study used to evaluate the risk of an arc flash—a dangerous release of energy caused by an electrical fault—within an electrical power system. It determines how big an arc flash could be, how close a worker can safely be, and what protective equipment (PPE) is required. The intent of TTC’s Arc Flash Hazard, Incident Energy Analysis Study & Report is to determine the arc flash and voltage hazards that exist at each piece of electrical equipment shown on the single line diagrams including switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, motor control centres, UPS, batteries, AC/DC breakers, AC/DC switches, traction power rectifier and transformers. The study will include the creation of Arc Flash Hazard Warning labels specific to each individually identified piece of equipment. These labels serve as a guide to employees and others in the selection of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working near exposed energized equipment. The award of the Contract shall be to a Contractor for a period for a period of one (1) year from the date of Notification of Award with an option in favour of the TTC, to extend for a one (1) year term.
