RFI - Provision of Biomedical Waste Removal Services

Manitoba is currently working to modernize its procurement processes to support sustainable economic growth and improved service delivery, ensuring better outcomes for Manitobans. As part of this effort, Manitoba is undertaking the review and development of a strategy to procure, administer, and manage the provision of biomedical and biohazardous waste management services in a manner that is compliant, efficient, and environmentally responsible. To support this initiative, Manitoba is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to assess the market for service providers capable of delivering these services. No contracts will be awarded as a result of this RFI. Manitoba aims to develop a go to-market strategy and establish a master agreement available to support Government of Manitoba departments. Veterinary Diagnostic Services request to identify and better understand the types of Biomedical and Biohazardous waste generated across its operations. The purpose of this initiative is to gain clarity on the nature, volumes, and characteristics of the waste streams in order to support the definition of appropriate, safe, and environmentally responsible disposal approaches. This RFI is intended solely for information-gathering and market understanding purposes, including insights into regulatory considerations, handling requirements, and standard practices applicable to the identified waste types. It does not constitute a request for proposals, the selection of vendors, or a commitment to initiate a tendering or contracting process.
