Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) -Djibouti Request for Expression of Interest (Consulting Services – Individual Consultant Selection) Name of project: FOOD SYSTEMS RESILIENCE PROGRAM FOR EASTERN AND SOUTHERN AFRICA Project No.: (P178566) Grant No: IDA-E 0820 Assignment Title: Consultancy on Identification, Gathering, Organising, and digitising Agro-climatic Datasets for Integration into the IGAD Ground Water Information System Contract No.: DJ-IGAD-555870-CS-INDV The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has received financing from International Development Agency (IDA) towards the cost of the Food systems resilience program for Eastern and Southern Africa and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant to payments under this contract: Consultancy on Identification, Gathering, Organising, and digitising agro climatic Datasets for Integration into the IGAD Ground Water Information System The objective of the assignment: The purpose of this consultancy is to identify, collect, and prepare relevant agroclimatic datasets and support their seamless integration into the Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS). The assignment will help expand the system’s usefulness so that it becomes a decision-making platform hosted by both the FSRP and the Water Unit. Policymakers, planners, and farmers should be able to rely on GWIS not only for groundwater data but also for guiding agricultural practices, improving water use efficiency, and planning food production. More information is provided in the Terms of Reference attached/ available upon request Expected Outcomes By the end of the consultancy, agro-climatic data that can be layered in the GWIS and can be used by both water and agriculture stakeholders will be made available for three cross-border areas: Karamoja, Moyale, and FerFer. This will make it easier for policymakers and farmers to make decisions that optimise water use and improve crop yields. It will also provide stronger evidence
