The Government of Mozambique (GOM) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Safer Roads for Socio-Economic Integration Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards the payment for Consultancy Services for Monitoring of Output and Performance Based Road Contract (OPBRC) in N1 Corridor Gorongosa - Caia Lot 1 (km 0 to km 84) in Sofala Province. 2. The key objective of the consultancy services is to assist ANE in the upgrading of the N1 road infrastructure to climate resilient standards and build a safer transport corridor by monitoring the Contractor’s performance and compliance with all contractual requirements, and by providing implementation support to the Employer during the implementation of the Project, including ensuring full compliance with the Environmental and Social measures as required by GOM and the World Bank, during the following phases: Phase 1 – when the Contractor mobilizes, prepares its detailed designs and then carries out all Rehabilitation and Improvement/ upgrading works, and at the same time provides maintenance services to guarantee a certain minimum service level; and Phase 2 – when the Contractor maintains the already Rehabilitated and Improved/ upgraded road sections at a normal service level and carries out periodic maintenance before close of the OPBRC contract. 3.
