ROI for Ministry of Education Safer Drinking Water in Schools Programme - Bores at Multiple Schools
Ministry of Education - School Infrastructure
The construction of new drinking water bores is required at numerous Ministry of Education (MoE) Schools North of Auckland. These new bores vary in size and specification between sites, all bores must meet the Taumata Arowai Specifications for bores and the Ministry of Educations own Specifications that have been created for this project. The outcome sought from this ROI is to gain a main contractor to complete all elements of the construction of required bores. We aim to source a contractor that can continue to be engaged in further works as the programme expands and additional bores are required. The Ministry of Education is responsible for ensuring school property, including drinking water infrastructure, is safe, reliable, and compliant. Recent regulatory changes under the Water Services Act 2021 have increased the need to assess and address drinking water compliance across the school portfolio. This has led to a growing but uncertain pipeline of bore-related works, driven by condition assessments, compliance requirements, and emerging risks.

Peer support specialists in Hutt Hospital Emergency Department and a crisis recovery cafe service – Lower Hutt

This opportunity is for peer support specialists in Hutt Hospital Emergency Department and a crisis recovery cafe service in Lower Hutt. This procurement opportunity is for two initiatives; peer support specialists in the Emergency Department at Hutt Hospital and a crisis recovery cafe service in Lower Hutt. While each initiative has its own established service model and commissioning parameters that must be upheld, there is flexibility to adapt and tailor delivery models to better meet local need. Health NZ is open to commissioning services collaboratively where this adds value. The objective is to grow the capacity in mental health and addiction services and workforce is a key priority for this Government. Health NZ I Te Whatu Ora recognises the need to provide alternative options that foster a supportive environment, lived-experience-based support for people who are in distress related to either mental health and/or addiction concerns. These initiatives will be implemented with scope for continual improvement over the initial contract term. Services are required to be peer‑led, maintain close working relationships with local mental health and addiction services, and operate under clear protocols that define linkages with mental health and addiction crisis services. Submissions are welcomed from individual providers, including Kaupapa Māori and Pacific providers, as well as from collaborations or consortia of two or more providers. This approach also enables consideration of shared resources and operational efficiencies, where appropriate, while maintaining the integrity and distinct purpose of each initiative.

C26/01 - Mid Dome Wilding Project Management
Southland Regional Council
The Mid Dome wilding conifer programme has been running for over 20 years with the Mid Dome Wilding Tree Charitable Trust (The Trust). During this time The Trust has employed a Project Manager to oversee the operational work. Due to recent changes with The trust taking more of a governance role, Environment Southland is now overseeing the contract and are looking for a competent company to undertake the Project Management and operational work within the Flagstaff and Mid Dome areas. The National Wilding Conifer Control Programme led by the Ministry of Primary Industries aims to prevent the spread of wilding pines and to progressively remove them from the land already invaded. 'The right tree in the right place: The New Zealand Wilding Conifer Management Strategy 2015-2030' (Strategy) provides the framework for the national programme. Mid Dome and Flagstaff are Management Units covered by the National Wilding Conifer Programme. This programme is funded through the National Wilding Conifer Control programme and contributions from The Trust. As this is locally and nationally funded there is currently no guaranteed funding going forward though indications for 2026/27 are looking promising and future funding is hoped to be clarified by early 2027. At present it is looking unlikely that we will be able to fully fund the 2023-2033 Strategy commissioned by The Trust and are going back to the basic ideas of The Trust's original strategy with priorities being to maintain the cleared areas, control original seed sources and prevent secondary spread. The Mid Dome operational wilding area consists of just under 30,000 hectares of wilding conifers. This is a mix of tenure of Crown land, conservation land and pastural land. The predominant species are Pinus Contorta (est 90%) with an unknown amount of mugo and an increasing amount of Douglas fir potentially coming from outside the programme area.
