The project’s primary focus will be to address public health and environmental risks from the Nairit chemical plant, through neutralization of the hazardous chemicals, decontamination of chemically contaminated facilities, and other measures. The Government intends to apply part of the proceeds for the following consulting services. The consulting services (“the Services”) include conducting site investigations and feasibility study to support preparation of the Nairit Environmental Remediation and Regeneration Project by enhancing knowledge and data on the chemicals on-site and identifying suitable options for treatment and remediation. CONTEXTE ET JUSTIFICATION Le Gouvernement de Côte d’Ivoire a adopté un Plan Sectoriel Éducation-Formation (PSE) qui détermine les orientations du Ministère en charge de l’éducation et de l’alphabétisation jusqu’à l’horizon 2025. Ce PSE bénéficie de l’appui des partenaires techniques et financiers. C’est dans ce cadre que l’Association Internationale de Développement (IDA-Banque mondiale) finance, conjointement avec le Partenariat Mondial pour l’Éducation (GPE), une partie du PSE 2016-2025. Le financement s’élève à 425,35 millions de dollars (US$) et couvre un e partie de la période de mise en œuvre du PSE.
