Culvert Replacement and Road Reconstruction / Repair

The Rural Municipality of Prairie Lakes invites qualified contractors to submit sealed tenders for the installation of culverts within the Municipality for the 2026 construction season. 1. Scope of Work The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, supervision, and incidental materials necessary to complete culvert installations as directed by the Municipality. Work may include: Removal of existing culverts Excavation Installation of corrugated steel or HDPE culverts Bedding and backfill Compaction Road restoration Traffic control Disposal of surplus material Site clean-up The Municipality reserves the right to supply culverts. 2. Contract Term The agreement shall commence upon award and remain in effect until December 31, 2026, unless extended by mutual agreement. The Municipality does not guarantee any minimum amount of work. 3. Granular Material Item Unit Unit Price Granular Backfill cubic metre $ _______________ 5. Work Scheduling The Operations Manager or designate will identify each work location. No work shall commence without authorization from the Municipality. Emergency work may be requested with little notice. 6. Contractor Responsibilities The successful Contractor shall: possess appropriate insurance; maintain Workers Compensation Board coverage; comply with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health legislation; have experience installing municipal road drainage construction; be a qualified operator for all necessary equipment; obtain all required permits; provide proper traffic control in accordance with Manitoba standards; protect municipal infrastructure; repair any damage caused during construction. 7. Municipality Responsibilities The Municipality may: identify work locations; provide culverts; inspect completed work; reject work that does not meet specifications. 8. Payment
