ACAN - Standing Offer for Wound Care Management System

An Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a public body intends to award a goods, services, or public works contract to a pre-identified supplier. An ACAN is used when a public body believes that there exists only one supplier capable of providing the required commodity. It also allows other suppliers to indicate their capacity and interest in bidding by submitting a “statement of capabilities” which outlines the suppliers’ ability to meet the requirements of the procurement. If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, public bodies may then proceed with awarding the sole-source contract to the pre-identified supplier.
