REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES – FIRMS SELECTION) COUNTRY: Uzbekistan NAME OF PROJECT: Central Asia Regional Electricity Market Interconnectivity and Trade (REMIT) Project Credit No .: IDA-79550 Assignment Title: Consulting Services of Technical Supervision and Project Implementation Support for the Central Asia Regional Electricity Market Interconnectivity and Trade (REMIT) Project Reference No.: REMIT/QCBS-1 The Republic of Uzbekistan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Central Asia Regional Electricity Market Interconnectivity and Trade (REMIT) Project , and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments for the technical supervision services of the Contract for Design, Supply and Installation of 220 kV Transmission Lines and Design, Supply and Installation related to Extension works at existing Substations. The objective of the consulting services (“the Services”) is to provide project management and site supervision services to Project Implementing Unit (PIU) within National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan (NEGU) to ensure timely and qualitatively implementation of Design, Supply and Installation of 220 kV Transmission Lines (Lot 1) and Design, Supply and Installation related to Extension works at existing Substations (Lot 2) . The Services include but not limited to: (i) review and approval of the detailed engineering design provided by the Contractors; (ii) provide project management and site supervision to construction quality and progress by the contractors; (iii) witness factory tests and supervise testing and commissioning; (iv) review invoices against contract implementation progress and issue payment certificates; (v) review claims, variation orders and assist in preparation of contract amendments as needed; (vi) monitor compliance with the requirements of environmental and social documents by the contractors; (vii) prepare necessary progress reports and build the Client’s project management cap
