Reference No.: ET-MOWE-522455-CS-QCBS The Government of Ethiopia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Ethiopia Flood Management Project (E-FMP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services. The consulting services (“the Services”) include the provision of Feasibility study and Detail design for selected investments in the Wabi-Shebele Basin & Genale Dawa Basin Flood Risk Reduction Investment. GENERAL OBJECTIVES:-The overall objective of this assignment is to conduct feasibility study and Detail design for selected investments in the Wabi-Shebele Basin & Genale Dawa Basin including evaluating the viability and effectiveness of proposed flood risk reduction interventions, ensuring that they are technically feasible, economically justified, environmentally sustainable, and socially beneficial for the affected communities. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To establish a technical baseline for flood risk assessment through validation of existing data and updated hydrological and hydraulic analyses, including climate change considerations and flood hazard mapping. To identify and develop priority flood risk reduction interventions by assessing risk hotspots, evaluating alternative solutions, and preparing detailed designs and cost estimates for selected measures. To enhance institutional readiness for sustainable flood risk management through preparation of operational frameworks, environmental and social safeguards instruments, stakeholder engagement mechanisms, and capacity-building activities.
