U66 Trisonic Wind Tunnel - Electrical Prequalification

1 Project Description The U66 Trisonic Wind Tunnel project will deliver a new compressor facility and associated infrastructure, systems, equipment relocation, connections, controls and supporting work at the National Research Council Canada campus at 1950 Research Private, Ottawa. The work will be undertake within an active federal research environment and will require careful planning, coordination, security compliance, shutdown management, quality control, testing, commissioning and turnover. 2. Anticipated Scope Electrical distribution systems associated with the new compressor facility and related existing infrastructure, including medium-voltage and low-voltage equipment. Medium-voltage metal-clad switchgear, transformers, feeders, distribution equipment, motor power systems, grounding, bonding and associated supports. Power and control connections to compressor-related equipment, motors, variable frequency drive interfaces, mechanical equipment and associated auxiliary systems where included in the tender package. Electrical testing, protection and coordination verification, energization, functional testing, integrated commissioning and turnover documentation. Coordination with mechanical, controls, instrumentation, structural, architectural and NRC operational requirements. Shutdowns, isolations, tie-ins to existing energized infrastructure and work in or adjacent to operating research facilities. The final scope, commercial requirements, schedule, bonding, insurance, security and contract terms will be established in the future tender documents.
